How Do I Authenticate my Coach Bag?

Coach purses and bags are expensive and in demand. Because they are so pricey and popular, they are often replicated by scam artists hoping to cash in on the company's logo. These bags are not made with the materials and methods of regular Coach products so can be spotted with a careful overview. One way to avoid purchasing a fake coach bag is to only buy bags from licensed Coach retailers. Fake products are most often sold on online sites and by street vendors.

Instructions:

1. Look at the C's on the bag if it is from the signature collection. The C's should be symmetrical. Coach bags in the signature collection feature a "C" in a repeated symmetric pattern on the outside of the bag. Fake bags sometimes have C's that don't line up perfectly like on real Coach bags.
2. Examine all of the stitches on the bag. Bags made by Coach have evenly-placed stitches that form straight lines. Knock off bags might have uneven stitches or stitch lines that are crooked.
3. Look at the zipper pull and check to see if the letters "YKK" are on the bag. If the letters are not on the bag, the bag is fake.
4. Look inside the bag for the "Coach creed." The creed is printed on leather and is always deeply imprinted and easy to read. Knock off bags might include a creed that is difficult to read.
5. Take the bag to an official Coach retailer to authenticate the bag.
